Barbara
Hageman Sarvis
Barbara
was born in Bergen County New Jersey. She was academically
trained at The School of Visual Arts in New York City,
The New School of Social Research, Vermont Studio Center,
The Charles Cecil Studio in Florence, Italy and Studio
Incamminati, Philadelphia, Pa.. In addition, she was
an apprentice to Audrey Flack in the 1970's. She earned
a B.A. degree in contemporary arts, and a B.S. degree
in art education. She continued graduate level work
in both subjects and traveled throughout Europe studying
the great masters and their works.
She
has held various art administration positions, including
the directorship of education for The Jacksonville Museum
of Modern Art, and as executive director for The Cultural
Center at Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. She continues
to lecture, curate exhibitions and teach studio art
and art history to students of all age levels and abilities.
